Saving Abel frontman leaves amicably for solo career

Listen to Saving Abel on iHeartRadio

Saving Abel frontman Jared Weeks is parting ways with the band to start a solo career.  He made the announcement on the band's Facebook page, explaining that his exit was not a "spur of the moment" decision.

Instead, Weeks says it was something he's talked about openly with his bandmates for some time now.  He adds that he's even been helping with the transition to the new Saving Abel frontman, Trash the Band singer Scott Austin.

In the meantime, Weeks is making the move to Nashville where he plans to start recording his debut solo album.

Weeks recorded three albums with Saving Abel during their decade together.  The last one - "Bringing Down the Giant" - was released in 2012.

The band has let fans know they still love Jared and wish him luck.
